The body looks outstanding as it has almost no wear. The orange finish has held up very nicely considering the age. The neck is nice and straight with no issues. The headstock has a number of surface cracks that run up through the tuners and the center of the headstock. The cracks do not look to go below the surface of the headstock. When looking at the back of the headstock there is no apparent damage. Like most vintage Gretsch guitars the binding on this guitar is in poor condition, most of it is yellow and cracking. There are two spots on the bottom side of the neck where the binding has chipped off. Apparently the Gretsch factory was not organized when it came to serial numbers. This could probably explain the guitar having a number from an earlier year.
