This is a 1997 Gibson Les Paul Joe Perry model electric guitar. It is in like mint condition and sounds amazing. The guitar has some minor scratches on the  back, but nothing serious. The top is a glossy, transparent black flame and it has Joe Perry's signature near the tailpiece. This was done at the factory and is standard on all the Joe Perry models. The frets are in excellent condition and it has new strings and plays great.

The second tone knob is a PUSH/PULL knob with an active mid-boost control. Basically—It is a built in WAH-WAH which is pretty frickin fun to play out. Let Joe explain it to you.

The biggest modification to the sound on the J.P. model is some fancy electronics. "I knew a guy who did work on my guitars here in Boston," Perry said. "He'd take the guts out of a wah-wah pedal and put it in the bass pickup tone pot," Perry said. "When the pot is pushed in, you have a standard Les Paul. When you pop it out, everything the way the guitar is set up goes through that pot, and gives you that wah-wah sound in your guitar, so you can set the tone any way you want, and leave it. Or you can do little hammer-ons with your left hand and get wah-wah with your right hand on the tone pot.
