*****Vintage Fender Newporter Acoustic Guitar*****

Estimated production date of 1967, part of original Newporter series produced in California from 1965 - 1971 with electric-type head stock similar to a '57 electric Fender. Warm, rich, acoustic sound. 14 3/8" wide, mahogany back and sides, single bound top, unbound back, 25.5" scale, dot fingerboard inlays, spruce top, original 3 ply pickguard.

Through the sound hole you can see a stamp - V2 - Manufactured by Fender - Fender Musical Instruments - Santa Ana, California, U.S.A.

The chrome plate on the back has the Fender logo and the serial number 10895 between the two top screws. Newporters with similar serial numbers reportedly produced from 1966 - 1967.

The head says - Fender NEWPORTER, PAT. 3,143,028 - PATENT PENDING

New KLUSON DELUXE non-locking tuners

New Martin Silk and Steel ultra-light .0115 - .047 strings. I've found these to be the best yet for this particular instrument.

Original vintage (brown) thinwall hardshell case that was popular at the time these guitars were made (In slight disrepair)

Some minor scratches on the back, sides, and neck.

Bolt-on neck which is nice for adjusting fine action. Stays in tune like a rock. The only finish flaws were caused by me. There is a scratched area on the back which can be seen in the picture. The action is great and the guitar is so easy to fret.

This guitar would make a great addition to any collection. This guitar is the most collected Fender acoustic on the market. Here's what has been said about the Newporter: "The tonal quality of the wood seems to be maturing steadily, and each time I play it I discover a new 'sweet spot' which makes me realize I'll never have the pleasure of fully knowing the capabilities of this amazing instrument"
