Here is a chance for an old Valco amplifier head. I have not come across a Valco head like this and have no idea nor can see anywhere what model it is, so if someone could enlighten me more it would be appreciated. As you can see this thing has some cosmetic issues with some oxidation and scuffs and what not, so after getting it from someone who was liquidating a music store who did not know whether or not it worked, I was a bit surprised to plug it in and find that it has great tone and everything seems to work as it should. As you can see in the pics, it is about as staightfoward as can be. It has 4 Sovtek 6L6 power tubes and all of them light up as well as all the tubes. It sounds great, real warm and rich, but not quite as powerful as I would think having the 4 power tubes. There is no hum or scratchiness either, it is real clean and warm. It is missing two of the silly big knobs and the switches for the power and polarity, both of which can be turned on/off by flipping a small switch reachable under the face plate. The power light lights up. Hope that covers it cause that's about all I can think of. Study the pics, email any questions, and judge for yourself. Thanks for your interest folks.
