1981 model made in Westerly, Rhode Island / solid spruce top / solid mahogany sides / mahogany arched back / mahogany neck / rosewood finger-board / open tuning keys / dark sunburst pattern

I picked this up  in 1981 at Drome Sound Instruments in New York. I spent most of the afternoon trying out many guitars, but kept coming back to the D-25. I fell in love with the rich, mellow sound.
The tone is excellent, woody, full and natural, rich and well balanced.

Nothing fancy about her, but I liked the very dark staining of the sunburst, as it gave her a bare-bones uniqueness. Came with this very good hard case.

I have taken very good care of her over the years and it remains in excelent condition.
