You are bidding on a 1960/65 Fender stratocaster and original 1962 Fender brown case.

This guitar is a players guitar only due to many changes but what a great player's guitar it is!!!

The body is 1960 Fender Stratocaster body, professionally refinished in Sherwood Green. The paint is a few years old but is still in great condition. There is a faint body date in the tremelo cavity of 1/60. It is hard to make out in the picture but it is there.

The neck is a 1965 Fender Stratocaster neck that has been refiished on the front of the headstock and heal area. The headstock decal is a reproduction transition decal. The back of the neck has not been refinished and has a great worn in feel to it. Please note : The date on the heal of the neck has been scratched off a lonf time ago by some idiot. There is some repairs made to the neck that are shown in the pictures. The headstock tuner holes have been dowled as the tuners were replaced with larger ones a long time ago. It is now back to stock. The are 4 small dowell holes where a lockin nut was on a long time ago. The heal of the neck also has 4 small dowell filled holes and 2 small maple patches on the side of the heal. Please refer to thepictures to see the repairs made to the neck. The neck is straight and plays like butter! The brazilian frett board is very nice, dots are nice, the fretts are small and have some player dimples in them at the headstock end. They still play great though.

The case is an original 1962 Fender brown case that is in excellent condition! All the clasps are great. Tolex and leather are great as well. The case itself is worth a minimum of $750.00

Here is a list of the parts that make up this guitar:

Refinished 1960 Strat body, 1965 Strat neck with original 1965 Kluson tuners, 1972 Fender staggered pickups, two are dated 2112 and one is dated 8162.They are rewound to 7.1 K (neck), 7.1K (middle), 9K (bridge), 2 pots dated 1972 (137-7202), 1 push/push pot (for more pickup combinations), non original (no name) saddles, I am not sure about the tremelo block but I was told it was original, (please bid as if it wasn't an original block), the switch is a 5 way and the pickgaurd is a reproduction as well.

As I said this is a player's guitar only that is a great player with MONSTER TONE!!!!

The guitar gives you the original pickup combinations of a Strat with a 5 way switch, plus the push/push switch gives you the added combination of neck and bridge on at the same time (ala Telecaster) and all 3 pickups on at the same time. Very versatile and great sounds. The guitar playes like butter, has a great vintage feel that you can't get with a new guitar and sounds just beautiful!  You can get sounds all the way from country, blues, to all out rock. The pickups sound unreal!!! They are slightly hotter than original. You have to hear them to appreciate them. The in between sounds are very cool and have a great quack to them.

If you are looking for a fantastic sounding and playing Strat with the original vintage feel. Look no further. You will not be dissapointed. A Blues players dream!

TO ALL BIDDERS:

The reserve on this guitar is $3000.00

I have much more $ into this guitar. I made a mistake in setting the reserve lower than I had originally intended, when I listed it.  However, I will keep the auction going, and it will sell to the highest bidder over $3000.00

Do not bid on this guitar until you read below.

Another Ebay member raised the possibility that
the neck of this guitar is a cut down 1965 Jazzmaster neck. (The possible reason that the neck has a reproduction decal and neck date/information on the end of the neck scratched off).
I have looked at the headstock of the neck and can't tell either way if it is an original 1965 Strat or Jazzmaster neck. If it was cut down, it was done a long time ago as it has quite a bit of aging. It is very hard to tell.
In my opinion, the value of the guitar is as a great player only anyway. The neck has (in my opinion), very little collectability value due to all the changes and repairs etc. You are buying it for the vintage feel and playability.
So... having said that,
*Please bid on this guitar for a great player only, and as if the guitar has a 1965 Jazzmaster neck. This way, there will be nodissapointments*
I still think/feel it is an original Strat neck, but just can't guarantee that it wasn't an altered Jazzmaster neck as I don't positively know for sure.
You are bidding on a killer player Strat with an original very nice condition original 60's brown case.
My apologies if this has caused any confusion.
Regards and good luck!
