1988 Fender American Vintage 1957 Reissue StratocasterCustom color Fiesta Red! Fiesta red is one of the rarer custom colors for these early American Vintage Reissue Strats. Guitar is 100% original and is fantastic shape. Guitar even has original 3-way switch from the factory!The original thin Fiesta Red finish is very clean. There is no finish checking. On the front of the guitar there is a linear scratch that goes through this finish. This is about 1 inch long. I tried taking a close up shot of this. There is another linear scratch on the upper horn of the guitar. This is about 1.5 inches long and does not go through the finish. There are other very small surface imperfections from normal play. None of these go down into the finish. Most of these could actually be buffed out if the new owner wishes. The finish on the neck is in near mint condition. There is a chip on the top edge of the headstock and another small chip on the bottom edge of the headstock. Other than these two small imperfections the rest of the finish is mint. The back of the neack shows no wear. The frets are perfect. Decal is on top fo the finish just like it should be. Underneath the guard is 100% original untouched solder. At one time someone overtightened two screws on the guard which cause the guard to crack at these locations. The lower horm of the plastic guard has a crack as well as the hole right underneath the heal pocket. 1-25-88 is stamped on the butt of the neck. The pots are stamped R1378734, denoting they were made the 34th week of 1987. Serial number stamped on neckplate is V027612. Comes with original Fender tweed case, original manual, and original tremolo arm. Guitar weighs 7lbs 9oz.
