Another great Vintage Guitar found its way through the doors of the Guitar Trader located here in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina.

Today we offer a 1966 Guild CE 100 D in a lovely sunburst with original Guild HSC.
This is the two pick up version of the classic Capri line of Guild Archtops, as made in Hoboken, NJ . . . USA,baby!!! These are classic American guitars, considered to be a more affordable answer to the ES-175.  Great for Jazz or Rockabilly, some of my favorite features include;

-- Wonderful Vintage Vibe, serial number EF282, appears to be a 1966.  The original sunburst finish is a timeless classic.  The point of the cutaway is both great for playing and gorgeous.  The double binding of the body is quite eye catching.  Original Harp-style tailpiece.

-- Maple back/sides/neck for a very responsive tone.  The top is a laminate top, thin and very stable.

-- Bound rosewood fingerboard looks great and has a great jazz action, very even, flat and playable.  Medium 60s style neck, the best.  Oh yeah, and lovely!

-- The stock Guild HB-1 pick ups put out a diversity of great tones.

-- The original case is a quality wood case, and does the job quite well, and looks cool!

<<<<<<CONDITION, PLEASE READ ON AND BLOW UP THE PHOTOS!!!!!!

This guitar is in used condition, very playable, not in collectors condition . . . THIS IS A PLAYERS GUITAR.  Our client purchased this from a prominent Los Angeles based vintage dealer in 1992.  It would appear that this guitar had a complete rebuild at some point in time, although shows no cracks or cletes inside.  The neck was properly set and plays great.  You can see on the bound joints, the neck and such where the guitar was taken apart (CHECK OUT THE PHOTOS).  The fingerboard of the neck has been removed, too.  A little bit fine cracking (completely stable) on the binding around the fifth fret from removal.  Some fret wear.  The original bridge currently has a bit of forward rock to it.  I see this a lot on these style bridges, usually will rock back upon a re-stringing.  A bit of play wear to the neck, it could stand to be cleaned.  THE JOINT OF THE POINT OF THE CUTAWAY IS MAYBE A MILLIMETER OR TWO OFF (SEE PHOTOS). The case functions fine, but has wear and dings and a bit of laminated layers missing from the back.

THE TAIL PIECE, ELECTRONICS AND MACHINES ARE ORIGINAL AND FULLY FUNCTIONAL.
