The following alternativedescription can be found at this website(http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAMM02/Content/Yamaha/PR/AES820-AES820D6.html):

In today's musical landscape, the growing emergenceof hard-edged, guitar-driven rock d emands an instrument that can cutthrough and be heard--whether playing lead or                 rhythm, live or in thestudio. Yamaha Corporation of America, Guitar Products, answers therequests of young guitarists for axes with a characteristic massivesound, fast feel,         and an edgy, standout appearance with the WinterNAMM 2002 introduction of the AES820 and AES820D6 electrics.

Designed at Yamaha's USA Custom Guitar shop, the AES820features a highly contoured, l ightweight solid Alder body with afast, Black Satin-finished 24 3/4" scale Maple neck     and Ebonyfingerboards (no inlay markers). Electronics include neck and bridgedirect-mounted, custom design DiMarzio humbuckers, two Volumecontrols and a 3-way passive         rotary tone switch. Innovationscontinue with a low mass Tun-O-Matic style bridge, chrome independent tail pieces, and custom design chrome Sperzel Trim Lok tuners.Available     finishes include Black, Light Brown, Metallic and FlatBlue.

"The new AES820 models pick up where the AES800 left off, with some really extreme body contours and new appointments,"states Ken Dapron, director, Yamaha Guitar
Development. "They'rethe best looking, feeling, playing and sounding 2-humbucker rockguitars available anywhere for under $1,000 retail."

Yet another description(more specific as far as features go) at(http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/yamaha-aes820/1297):

With its blend oftraditional single-cutaway AES styling and a radically sculpted top,the AES820 is a picture of sleek efficiency and retro-cool. And whatyou’ll hear is huge! - two     gain- laden custom DiMarzio humbuckersdishing the hooligan filth, with a flexible rotary tone controlsystem that will also simulate more open-voiced single-coilsounds.

If all that isn’t low-down and dirty enough, theguitar also comes as the Drop 6 AES820-D6, with a longer 666mm scalelength and heavier strings enabling down-pitching to A or     B without losing string tension or having to learn new tunings. Trulygrunge-o-matic!

Thispiece is in NEAR-MINT condition, showing minimal signs of lightplaying wear.  As can be expected, there is some super finescratching in the finish due to light playing (not discernible byphotograph and virtually undetectable on the metallic brown finish).  In fact, I could find no other minor cosmetic blemish.  This pieceis very clean and as beautiful as in the pictures.

Dealincludes a used TKL gig bag as shown.
