We waited Sixteen months on delivery of this guitar. Although it has only been played by about three professional jazz players since we got, as I was cleaning it to put it back in its case, I found an almost imperceptible ding on the top. It made me sick as this is the most expensive guitars in our store and was and still is the best expression of American craftsmanship of any guitar that we ever offered. I have tried every angle to photograph the very slight and small impression with no luck. You have to shine a light on the top and look at it from just the right angle to see it. Head on it is invisible. In picture number five you will see the location of the ding. This shot was taken fron above and you can see there is no indication of the ding. Picture number six was taken in direct sunlight at an acute angle. If you look closely you can see the ding by referring back to the location given in Picture number five. This is the only way that the ding is visible - direct light and viewing from the side at an acute angle. So what would be fair to all concerned for that small of an imperfection on a $10,000 jass box? MAP on these very rare instruments built by Hamer is $7900. I am going to start the bidding at the more than fair price of $4400 which is a savings of $3500 off of a ding only you will know is there. This is well below cost on this fine instrument.
